It's a great keyboard, and illumination is a useful feature, but I was disappointed in how it looked. The light squirts out not just from the key labels, but everywhere -- between/underneath the keys, etc, and its kind of uneven.

A favorite keyboard. I'm using it now, and have given it as a gift.

There -is- slight light leakage, but it's negligible on mine -- I wouldn't have thought it worth mentioning... I hadn't paid it any attention until the above post.

How do the keys feel? Does it feel like it has sturdy construction? Does the paint on the keys rub off leaving you with light smudges or are the keys truly high quality where the plastic itself is either black or transparent? I've kept my eye on this keyboard over the years and it's a candidate to replace my current keyboard.

I like it. The keys are a lot quieter than my previous keyboard, which is great because I teach online as part of my job and the loud keyboard I had was annoying the students.

How do the keys feel?
A deeper stroke than a LapTop; very... solid, very comfortable for me.

Does it feel like it has sturdy construction?
Who's to say what that means. The base body's thin and looks like it could be damaged were it dropped on its edge from a height, but it FEELS solid. I've had zero issues with it in 6 months of daily use, including the occasional drops from table to carpet.

Does the paint on the keys rub off leaving you with light smudges or are the keys truly high quality where the plastic itself is either black or transparent?
The keys are not top-etched or, to my examination, painted on the top-side. I'm guessing they are trans-parent/-lucent with black on the underside and a white diffusing on the symbols (illuminated area). Those symbols are crisp and appropriately sized/readable.

At this price I'm thinking of buying my third! Different folks like varying keyboard strokes; this is about ideal for me -- -much- preferred over the LapTop style.

Note: I've never used the super-functions keys [FNCTN + F2 = "email", FNCTN + F11 = "pause/play", etc.] so I don't know if they work, but I've no reason to doubt they do.

PS: re' "noise" -- It's quieter than olde mechanical keyboards, but still has a comforting "slap" as I type on it, perhaps more on the space key than on the letters.

Best keyboard I've owned (I've owned several varieties of Logitechs). I've had it for almost 2 years. It is still wonderfully quiet, and very pleasant to type on because of the short key-travel and sturdy build quality. The lighted keys are SO useful for me, because it allows me to game when all the lights in the house are out (which is how my wife likes it when she goes to bed before me). If mine broke I'd buy another in a heartbeet. Strongly recommend it.

if you are a 'new' customer you can apply NEWCUSTOMER10 at checkout for $10 discount. would make the keyboard $30 after rebate

edit: looks like the coupon has expired now

I had to share this BestBuy review of the keyboard -

I would have loved the keyboard, but I had to send it back because it had a usb conncection and would have had to go to the neighboring town to get the adapter and that was the reason for ordering it on line-not to go to Augusta, Ga. at Xmas time -it was a gift, so i will try to buy it again later when a tech can show me what adapter I need.
