Newegg LCD only $340??

Its a pretty good price for a 17" LCD but I'd say hold off until the next Dell LCD deal comes around... you might be able to pick up an Ultrasharp 17" from Dell for about the same money, and even now they are going for only $400 when you use the 20% off monitors coupon on the Dell Small Business website. I'd trust that monitor over neweggs for $60 more.

I don't see DVI cable on the picture they supply... Does this one have a DVI port or you're limited to VGA-only? The small font text is not pretty on LCD with VGA interface.

8 dead for return is pretty standard stuff, no? I was looking at the Mitsu/NEC LCD site the other week.....they want 10 before its "defective"....less if they are grouped in a bad spot (maybe, you gotta call and beg)

Also, i have a little question......is the DVI input all that much better? In the reviews here at Anandtech, what the same LCD is tested with VGA and DVI, rarely are the results any better for DVI. Sometimes, the VGA seems to fair a little better.....

actually no. DVI kick a$$ for gaming and fast moving stuff. Without it you would have major ghosting even on a lcd with awesome pixel reponse. Get dvi if you can and you want to watch dvds or play video games on it besides solitare.

DVI makes absolutely no difference when it comes to ghosting. its all about the sharpness. with a regular vga signal, you go from
[video card]digital ->analog[/video card][cable]analog[/cable][lcd]analog->digital[/lcd]
with DVI, its purely digital.
I've got a planar 17.4 w/dvi and analog inputs... ive tried both 😛
