you probably don't want to read all 27 pages so heres the jist of it

guy buys board, has no video with his gtx 580 any of them.

tries other cards and has video, so the board works.

rma's to newegg gets it sent back and has 1/4 of the pins mushed rma denied.

buysa a second board in the interim doesn't even take the socket protector off sends it back due to quality issues.

denied rma cause again pins bent.

eventually gets it sorted but wow...

just google newegg bent pins. too many to be user error.

hell it's gotten so bad people are sending in pictures of there sockets and making movies of them showing the socket on youtube and i think one guy made a video while packing the boards.

Hopefully my 2nd board will be fine.

Not sure if your reply was genuine nice or what but it looks to me newegg is notorious for damaging boards RMAed for replacement.

Wow some scary stuff in that thread. I buy all my CPU/Motherboard/PSU from Microcenter now since they usually have the best price and great return policy. I still buy other smaller stuff from Newegg (and everywhere else).

I am stuck with Newegg but whatever better not have meshed my ASRock boards to bits and the next board I order better be better and not come in a damaged box again.

If I ever get one ordered, I don't really know how to pick a board. Which maybe was my flaw with the 1st one.

I just need something that is decent and will last until June or October, then it will just become a board for a home office computer not gaming.

Like I said the CPU isn't a K so I won't be overclocking it. I just need to pick up something fairly cheap that isn't ASRock, thinking like less then $120 on it. CHEAP IS GOOD AS LONG AS IT QUALITY.

THERE IS TOO MANY DAMN OPTIONS!

I asked on MOBOs but everyone is saying go with a z87 chipset, wouldn't the h87 be better? Or am I wrong?

Odd. I really cannot remember the last time I've had to install standoffs in a case. All the Corsairs I've bought, an 800, 600 and two 650's, had the standoffs installed, the Lain-Li A04 had them installed, the Silverstone Sugo 02 even had them already installed. Even the el cheapo Antec Three hundred had them preinstalled.

Granted, you buy $20 cases and they may not be, but the cases without either the brass standoffs preinstalled or the preformed "bump" type standoffs there are rare indeed.

But I'm not surprised the Raidmax case didn't have them installed. It's tough to buy a cheaper POS than a Raidmax anything.

Beats me. I've always bought decent $100ish name brand cases.

My Rosewill Blackhawk had them pre-installed. I thought that was a nice touch. I guess when you move up from the budget RaidMax / Xion / Apex category of cases, up to the $100-class cases, they start to pre-install the standoffs for you.

My case was $120, didn't have them. My moms case was $60, had them. Logic fail.
