Newegg has forever lost my business. Amazon from here on out

ever since I bought a used tv from them a few years ago, I've sworn off Newegg.

they have the disclaimer to expect missing "inconsequential" parts when buying refurb items, and I'd be fine with a missing remote control, product manual, etc... but the part that was missing in my case was the actual tv stand. all I was shipped was the LCD panel... that's far from inconsequential in my book, and the response from CS was basically "lol, sucks to be you."

Never had a major problem with either Amazon (only Amazon independent sellers) or Newegg and when I did it was resolved in an acceptable manner. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Over the holidays (Black Friday in particular) I buy a lot from Newegg, but usually Amazon trumps their prices.

Since 2003 I have been buying PC parts, software and even full PC's from Newegg and never had a problem. I used to be a purchaser for a local PC/repair and services company, also an IT Manager at a multi-location manufacturing company and have spent tens of thousands of dollars with Newegg and I will continue to do so. I have only used their customer service on a few occasions and had the problems resolved to my satisfaction.

On a semi-related note, I still buy from NE (cautiously), and Amazon, seller beware on Amazon. I closed my seller account when they decided (unilaterally) to refund a buyer for a used item I sold him, based solely on his claim the item was defective. It was a Sammy 830 256GB, which is now back in my system humming along nicely. Nothing I could say, show, or do would satisfy them that the buyer was wrong, even though the terms of the sale were clearly stated "as is."

These online companies, once big enough, adopt policies that benefit only them, and the consumer be damned.

A recent Newegg experience: a bogus "rush" (expedited) order (from another state) for a $700 unlocked iPhone was attempted to be charged to my Newegg account, using a credit card of mine that was last used there. Luckily, was able to log in to my Newegg account, cancel the bogus order, delete all CC information on file, and change my account password.
After complaining to a CSR via online chat, the CSR declined to offer any further information on how this bogus Newegg order & CC charge had occurred. Even though I had the complete name, address & phone number of the person that had evidently used my Newegg account & CC to place the order.
How was this Newegg order, destined for another state (and not the same address as my CC billing address) even allowed to be processed?
Subsequently Newegg has disabled my ability to log in to my Newegg account, never apologized or followed up on replying to my request for further information. The CSR even suggested that I should report the bogus CC charge attempt to my local area police.
yeah right....online you can say anything you want...rofl...

Anyone else get that 'Securesuite' intermediary visa security verification when checking out?

It's a load of cr@p. I didn't have my password at the time and newegg processed the order anyways.

The only problem I ever had with a product shipped from newegg is the audio back panel on my motherboard didn't work. By the time I had realized it, it was already installed and running in my case. It sucks all the more because I didn't have a free pci slot I could use for a sound card. I ultimately had to run a hdmi cable from my video card (instead of the usual DVI cable because I need to carry sound) to my monitor and plug my two speakers into the headphone jack on the back of the monitor to get sound. I thought about shipping it back for a replacement, but I've only heard bad things about RMA these days and the motherboard otherwise worked, so I didn't.

I will never shop anywhere BUT newegg. I find their customer service to be better than what I expect it to be.....and I expect it to be perfect. They have refunded me money when I technically didnt deserve it.
