Not really that insane at all. Buy $260 of hardware, get $55 off basically. It's called 'volume'

Use it for your OS/apps install drive. That's exactly how I have my system set up. 80GB for OS/apps and 160GB for storage. Works well for me.

Blasphemy! You can never have too much storage. Buy an external drive and presto! Storage to go :)

Agreed. Also, they might also have too much inventory of the hard drives. Since we don't know the manufacturer, it could be a brand that doesn't sell that well.

NO... benchies suggest that the RAM in single channel bottlenecks above 3400+. Save the $, and buy a new 939 setup later.

Now there's an intelligent answer. Must be the water in Grand Rapids. Comes out of the Grand River, and we all know what's floating in that. :p

Actually according to a friend dealing in the channels, NewEgg sometimes makes as little as one percent on the merchandise they sell. In other words, a single return would've not only eliminated profit made on the merchandise itself, but also eat into overall profit.

On some items, I have an account with ASI and on stuff like cpu's some memory, you are absolutely correct. On drives, ALL accessories, and a bunch of other stuff they make WELL over 1%, if you average it all out what will it come to, shrug. For instance I could have purchased a drive that newegg sells for $56 for $35 so that is a about a 37% markup, again this isn't my theory I have the price lists.

Oh and you can as well, wanna purchase at lower than "egg" prices, its easy sign up with amd to be a reseller, you don't even need a tax id # at first, after amd gives you the thumbs up email contact ASI and you can start dealing at wholesale level. Why haven't I started to sell stuff on here and make some money, busy rehabbing a house that I thought would take 6 months, almost 2 years later we aree CLOSE to being done, sigh. Have fun.

no it's not

add the CPU linked above to your cart and add this as well and it'll automatically take $53.xx off your total purchase.

not a bad deal at all imo

No wonder they're bundling this small HD with the processor. Both units are old and they wanna git rid of the stock.
Still a hot deal though for those who are stuck with a 754 mobo.

they are probably clearing out athlon 64 754, since most 754 stuff is sempron now.

an 80 gb hard drive is pretty useful still though, unless you are some insane movie and mp3 downloader, it is plenty for most people.

everyone with a laptop seems to get by with it ok. if this was say a 3000 athlon 64 754 witha free hd, it woul dbe a nice deal.
