Is it just me or is our beloved Newegg going down the drain? Seems like they are charging more, charging more for shipping, slow customer service via e-mail responses and slow customer service via phone.

I have submitted an e-mail and it took about 2 and half days before I heard back and the e-mail was basically a template. It didnt even answer my question/concern. I replied back, got a reply back 3 days later asking for order number (which I had already included in the original e-mail) and so I sent my order number and it is day 3 and I still have not heard back from them.

This morning I put a $550+ order in and I recently switched my cc billing address and so it said they couldn't verify and to call to verify. So I call the 1800 number, busy. Call again, Busy, it took 12 times before I got through and now I am going on 15 minutes on hold without even talking to a single human being.

I miss the good 'ol Newegg. :( I only shop there about 50% of the time now rather than 95%

Interesting I'm reading this now...........

I bought this case on Friday. Aspire X-finity

Here's a few problems I have..........

#1.) When I bought it it was $59 w/ no rebate

#2.) Now, I look at the rebate form & it says $55 w/ a $10 rebate as of 12/2. Why wasn't this up on the website Friday?? (12/2, mind you)

#3.) The thing showed up on my doorstep Monday (I'm in So Cal too) OPENED!!!!!

I kid you NOT!!! Foam inner on one side was busted in 2 pieces, one side of the box was sealed, but the other side was completely opened. I looked inside in horror, but fortunately the case was OK. Looks like Aspire uses some good foam 'cuz it looks like it absorbed more than it busted.

I could not believe it. This is NOT the newegg I knew before! :|

I've been saying for about a year now that Newegg has been going down the drain. ZipZoomFly is the only way to go...

It's simple. Go to Newegg, FIND what you want, copy model number, go to ZZF, paste model number in search, and purchase.

Easy enough.

Newegg treats me well.
Had to request an RMA through email and I got a response in 24 hours.
Sent the item back yesterday. Will let you know how long it takes and how much hassle I get, if any.

:Q O NOES!!!

Well, that would explain a lot if that were so... but I haven't had any issues, newegg still has great prices on most things I'm looking for. We'll find out tho, I just ordered from them.

ZOMG!!! Exactly the same thing when I ordered an Aspire case for a customer a few weeks ago! Not to mention it took 10 days to get here:|

I personally have never had a problem with them. In fact, they are a pleasure to do business with. The problem is UPS. And in the same vein, that is ZZF's big advantage: free 2-day FedEx and many items. ZZF is often $5-10 cheaper per item. Newegg has better inventory. ZZF has better pricing and shipping.

If ZZF had NewEgg's website and inventory, I'd never shop at NewEgg again. They're really fallen in the last year or so.

Newegg > ZZF

Newegg often gets things packaged and shipped the day you order, or early the next day. I've ordered on weekends recently and had it shipped early Monday. ZZF couldn't even process an order within 12 hours.

Newegg has a 1-800 number you can call, ZZF is long distance.

Newegg has given me great service, easy returns, and a great interface for a few hundred orders over the past few years. ZZF's interface I find hard to navigate, and the few orders I've gotten from them I've found their website lags as far as the status of your order and their return service is slightly annoying.

I just tried ordering something from ZZF the other day, my order sat in processing for a day, called them up and they said they were still working on it, I went to Tigerdirect and ordered the same thing for the same price and within an hour it was processed and packed, and it shipped out today. I have since canceled my ZZF order.

I have my own sob story from Newegg. I ordered a Powercolor multimedia keyboard for like 13 bucks. I got it but no Floppy drive was included. The floppy drive is needed for the extra key functions. I went to the powercolor website but they didn't have drivers. I contacted the Egg and asked them for the disk to ship to me. They proceeded to state that no disk came with the keyboard. Well, I beleived them. One month later, my friend bought the same keyboard. He got a disk. Thats screwed up. Anyways, I just copied his floppy and Now I have my own. But that experience with the egg still lingers in my memory.

I just got through with an RMA and it went very smooth for me. I shipped it out (ground) on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and received a new harddrive today. So far, I have no complaints with Newegg at all. FWIW

Well in the case of the X-finity case I ordered, they *did* have a 3 day option at $12.99. (Ground was $12.69 so I figured it'd at least get 'em to get it out the door on time).

But they didn't even slap ONE extra piece of shipping tape on the thing.

There is NO WAY IN HE// I would ever ship a computer case as they come on a pallet from the factory. You've GOT to tape those suckers up at least a little bit.

This one was definitely not UPS's fault.......this was all newegg.

(Not to mention my price issue w/ them on this one). :|
