First off Tigerdirect did not buy Newegg.com

My friend that works there has told me the last year has been a period of growing pains for Newegg. Shipping companies are raising prices and I suspect that ZZF is hurting to be able to offer that Fedex shipping. They wont be able to keep it up for long. take advantage of it now.
Newegg has re-directed its goals, they are going after their core audience again. If you notice, the billboards are dissapearing, print ads are staring to only appear in enthusiast publications now, radio promotion is almost non existant, and TV commercials are over. Its basically a period of growth, then streamlining, growth, steamline, etc.

Quite the contrary..........

So long as ZZF was able to tolerate the hit they took from FedEx during the last quarter in regards to all of the shipping increases due to fuel surcharges, then they'll be in much better shape in the coming quarters as fuel surcharges decline and shipping costs decrease. (Folks like FedEx, DHL, etc. are cutting great deals to folks like ZZF in an attempt to capture market share and it's working)

Combine that with the fact that ZZF will be experiencing growth during this period of *growing pains* that the egg is going thru and ZZF stands to steal a good share of business.

Mwave would do well to jump on this, too. They are close competitors and among the little guys, Mwave has the resources to handle egg-type volume. If I were Mwave, I'd go full bore right now & tap the well dry!!!!

ZZf got my last $4 or 5k for computer crap.
They're cheaper, faster, and they seem to actually give a shyt.
At this point, I'd use them if they were more expensive than Newegg.
Mind you, I loved Newegg. They did everything they could to change my mind.

UPDATE:

Well after more than a week inbetween the first e-mail and an e-mail saying "call Western Digital and Antec directly for rebate questions" the Western Digital rebate has expired (20 days after invoice date?!?!). Newegg just isnt what they use to be. :( The "New" rebate allows almost 45 days but I purchased one day before the "New" rebate (which is for the same amount). Lame
