Newegg E6600 Price Drop $235 Free Shipping

ZipZoomFly has it for $1 less and it also comes with a free Supreme Commander (add it to your cart to see the free game)

But then again...who would be willing to sacrifice Newegg's elite customer service for $1? 😀

Did I mention free shipping for both?

Nice, go Newegg - too bad they didn't drop it sooner or they would have squeezed another $235 out of my pocket with my mobo/RAM purchase instead of ZZF. Also, their $60 plus $6 freight price on the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro is out of control, same part at eWiz was $29 SHIPPED.

same part at eWiz was $29 SHIPPED.

Got in on that deal, I think it was even less actually. It was under $27 shipped for me. One clearcut case where Newegg was gouging like a meat butcher on speed.

this thing flies. definitely cheap
i cant wait to see how quad core kills all these current C2D chips though. 😀

Im not sure why youd think they will kill these cpus but.... How many programs do you know that can utilize even dual-cores these days, let alone 4 cores. 😛 We are not at the point yet where a quad core cpu is going to have huge benefits.

What's a good, value motherboard + memory to go along with this? Thinking about upgrading from my Opteron.

I would recommend the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 or DS3.

For memory, kind of depends if you want to OC, and if so, how much you want to OC.

If you want a better OC, I'd do some more research.

I just ordered 2 new systems from NewEgg yesterday with E6600's @ $310 per chip.

... that figures =0.

Oh, well , and this just gives me more reason to build additional systems with it.

An I guess I can always make up part of my money by buying the Freezer 7 from eWiz ($19.50 atm, NICE!).

HeyRay why dont you call or email newegg and see if they'll pricematch it for you. I mean you did buy it yesterday and all.
