Ahhh.....good ole' NH. No sales or income tax...and no wharehouses either..heh.

Moose? We've got lots of them...😉

well I guess Denmark doesn't throw away hundreds of billions of dollars on their military, heh. Damn US Army and their $400 toilet seats.

Yup, I haven't ordered from Newegg since they put a distrubituion center here. I mean, it sucks that they lose business because of the sales tax, but I'm sure the incremental revenue they're probably picking up will help... I guess.

BTW, we do have 9.25% sales tax but we do not have a state income tax.

I have been wandering this for some time now. A few months ago newegg said they put a warehouse, or something in TN. Now everytime I order something from TN why doesn't it ship from TN? I live in Jackson, which is like an hour away from Memphis, which is home to the Fedex Headquarters. I think the warehouse might be there, because they ship everything fedex. But why do i get charged sales tax, even when my shipments come from NJ or CA? Thanks

Sounds like you are going to have to move.......🙂

yes it's if you order from within a state that has a store/warehouse presence, you gotta pay the tax.

I do wonder - if billing/shipping are different states... do they charge based on _____ ?
It depends on where its shipped to.

I'm pretty sure they ship out of the Ingram Micro warehouse in Millington, just outside Memphis. Buy.com ships out of the same warehouse, but they do not charge sales tax.

NH and Oregon, the only two places worth living.😛

Heheh

Here in Maryland, where the motto is: "If it exists, tax it"

Sales tax is only 5%

Going to virginia for a week where its 9% screwed with my head.

Amen brother. Suck down that property tax... mine was $5k Last year and thats CHEAP for my neighborhood. YEAH!

With the great service and prices that Newegg gives, I don't mind paying taxes. But then I live an hour away from their warehouss, so it's like free next day shipping for me.
