ok, has some of may know, fedex lost my cpu during shipping, one of three boxes total. i recieved everything as ordered and expected except for the cpu. so i call newegg and tell them the story of how fedex wants me to file a claim and la da di...but i didnt have any info. no invoice(was lost in the package), no airbil etc....so they said they will handle it and call me back at work. well i go to get the number for newegg on thier site, and i notice that there's two orderes under my name. so i investigate further and see that they are shipping me another cpu(obviously) but fedex next day! so hopefully i should see it monday or tuesday, depending on when they actually package it and ship it.

well, i am pleased to say that i didnt even have to ask for next day or beg for some kind of expedition, and that their customer service rules!
Thank you Newegg.com

cool... if this place keeps up customer service like that and offers these low prices still, why would anybody shop anywhere else?

it was never neweggs fault to begin with. it was fedexs fault. now if all of my parts are defective, then that would suck, but i judeg a company more on the way they handle these situations rather than the parts they send, unless of course it was a consistent problem.

Actually the shipping kills... They calculate it by parts, so the cost doesn't go down if you buy in a bundle.

well, it cost me 48 bucks to ship

Enilght 7237 case w/300w PS
20 gig IBM 60gxp HDD
KyroII 64mb
Aopen 52x CDROM
Duron 750
Iwill KK266-r
floppy

wasnt the worst shipping prices ive seen, but certainly not the best either. but then again, it is fedex, and no matter how you shipp it, fedex is a ripoff.

Yea, the only thing that sucks about newegg is its shipping system. It doesnt go by lbs. Newegg sets the price for that instead. They are still the top store for hardware

Maybe I'm not doing something right....

from newegg.com

Cooler Master EP5-6i11 $11 Fedex Saver Shipping $5.00
EPOX Motherboard 8KTA3 $90 Fedex Saver Shipping $10.00
AMD Duron 750MHz Socket A $34 Fedex Saver Shipping $10.00

So I would expect the Shipping total to be $25 (shipping to CO)

But, in the shopping cart it shows $13.24 Fedex Saver Shipping
and $24.92 Fedex 2Day

So, they are not charging by piece! Did this just change or something?

It said Fedex 2nd day shipping $10 or whatever, right? So the $13 price was for some slower delivery, I'd believe.

I think Newegg watches AT. :)

Look when ya register it says where'd you find out and AT forums are on there if I remember.

And when everyone wanted AXIA Tbirds they had the cheapest ones. I don't think they had the cheapest P3's or P4's... :) Same for Radeon LE. They know we want it.

That's what I think hehe.

Well no, every shipping price is quoted as "Fedex Saver Shipping" before you buy.

Wow you are lucky if they do that for you. I have had several orders get trashed by UPS... and when I say trashed I'm talking about holes in the box, dents, missing packing bubbles, CD-ROMs shattered. It took several months for the whole claim thing to work.

Technically speaking, once the package leaves the vendor, it is the shippers responsibility. This is why I always try to make sure high $ orders are insured.

Technically speaking, it's Newegg's responsibility to rectify fedex problems. They're the ones who have an account with FedEX and so if something goes missing they are to look after the problem.

Wouldn't it be cool if you got that cpu and then fedex found your other cpu so they send it to you and you get 2 cpus! :)

Wrong. Most vendors state that they provide shipping F.O.B. - once the package transfers from them to the shipper, it is no longer their property and is considered yours. They're under no obligation to resolve issues surrounding delivery of the items.

Obviously, if NewEgg handles it like that, they're going to satisfy even more customers. What's even a few hundred bucks loss if they can get you back to spend a lot more?

And, to the original poster, yes, NewEgg does rock. I've placed tens of orders, and never had one take longer than a couple days to reach me. I love the FedEx shipping and wide selection, and the prices are great to boot.

well, in my eyes it isnt thier fault that Fedex lost it, but it should be thier courtesy to ship me another ASAP, and overnight it without extra cost to me. i guess i expect too much?

Syborg1211
looking at the Fedex tracking system, they did find the lost package and it is on its way. i think i may pay them the courtesy they paid me and return the extra, that is if i get it!

Interesting, b/c anytime i have never received goods from a company, even due to delivery problems, credit cards always dispute in my favor w/o any hassle. Companies can say whatever they want, but if you pay by credit card, they don't get paid if the consumer doesn't get the product.
