So I recently ordered a set of components from newegg. They seemingly forgot half of my order. Luckily, I emailed them and they replied today. They apologized and overnighted my order, with a $20 credit. Now that is service! Newegg, you rock!

Well, they want to charge me $24 shipping for:
- one power supply
- two mini-usb cables
- one USB reader

(Cheaptest shipping).

I don't think so.

The flat shipping charges don't go down if you order some random small stuff, it costs $5 shipping each no matter how big the package already is.

If Newegg rocked that hard, then they wouldn't have screwed up your order to begin with. :D

Yeah, their shipping games are stoopid. Not combining is like a bad eBay seller. Claiming "free shipping" when it is just included in the list price (relative to other sellers) is like pooping in my mouth and calling it a sundae.

Well the trick to getting cheap shipping is to probably buy those free fed ex shipping savers. But yeah their shipping is redicolous, it goes so high when ordering little part, thats its not even worth getting it no more.

Yep. I was going to order 3-80mm fans, a 1 grill and a cooler. The parts came to $21 and the shipping was $16 so I dumped the cart. I actually bought a cooler today from CompUSA for less than Newegg (exact cooler brand and model) with shipping. Newegg still offers good service but you got to watch out for the shipping trap.

Newegg sucks. Everything i've bought from them has ended up broken: deathstars, epox mobo fried by enermax PSU bought from newegg, 2x cruciall ddr266, lite on dvd, lite on cdrw. all within a YEAR. on the other hand, the stuff i've bought from compusa has yet to fail me. only problem is compusa over chrages..prolly because they test more?

heh, screw newegg, i'll have to RMA to them pretty soon.

It think newegg's great, at least for more expensive items. Never had a problem w/ high shipping, taxes, or broken items.

Oh didn't you know that most dead parts are User Error or Mfg Error? Not Retailer? You can't blame the retailer for fault parts. I hate it when people do this.

Also the shipping mess-up: we're people, people make mistakes, that's what we do, we're nothing near perfect. Newegg comes through with a solution, always.

Had some problems with bad parts from NewEgg as well. I also hate that they sell parts that shouldn't even be sold in the US. Basically can't trust them all the time. ZZF has my serivce till they screw me over.

Are you referring to NE or ZZ? ZZ is competitive with NE and most other distributors. When you see prices on ZZ you know that is the price to your door 2nd day air.(except on larger items such as monitors and full systems etc) How much would it be to get the identical item at NE...lets test shall we?

ZZ-FX-55 $910 FREE second day air
NE - FX-55 $929 + $15.95 2nd day air

ZZ- WD 36.7 gig raptor $103.00 FREE second day air
NW - WD 36.7 gig raptor $109 + $12.95 second day air

hrmmm so Zipzoom is still cheaper even with their shipping costs built in. Which we all know they are.

I am sure you can get lower than that. And I am also sure there are deals where the reverse holds true too. I was just trying to make the point that you should shop around and not count on one place for everything.
Thank you for your time.

Lol you buy a deathstar and complain about the retailer not the manufacturer? And the fact that you put "all within a year," which means they worked on arrival so the retailer did its job. I buy NE because I know the prices are at least fair and I'm not getting ripped off plus I know that the parts I ordered are what they are listed to be. NE is just the only e-tailer that has yet to screw me over, so they retain my business. Plus ZZF's site is a hassle to navigate, NE's search options are a lifesaver, instead of ZZF where they lump all their cards together by amount of RAM

newegg sucks I don't understand why people suck up to them in their reviews. The service is average the prices are high...why shop there? The return policies are not very good either...

It wasn't always like this. A few years back they were like one of the top companies to order from online. Now that they have gotten bigger I have seen a decline... But isn't that true for most companies?
