Newegg.com Reviews are Biased!

Attention all members who do business with Newegg.com.
Newegg allows customers to rate the products they sell just like Amazon does.

In the past 3 weeks, I left two negative reviews for products I purchased from them that I felt were substandard. The products were a motherboard and a Mr. Flash compact flash memory. Surprisingly, my reviews were never added for other customers to see.

I find this quite alarming and thought other members would like to know about Newegg's "biased" product reviews.

Nevertheless, Newegg has some real good prices and I'll continue to buy from them. However, I wouldn't rely on the reviews any longer.

All of the resellers do it.
All of the manufacturers do it.
All of the hardware review sites do it.
All of the insurance agents do it.
All of the stock brokers do it.
All of the religious sects do it.

You are being sold a bill of goods by people with an agenda. Be skeptical (paranoid) or be a victim. Go to as many sources to get information that you can.

Well put Rastus. However, as far as I know, Amazon.com does publish the negative reviews.

Rastus: Not all resellers do it.

Take my work for example... We know Abit sucks. ;)

I don't trust those guys anyway. I got a card from them that had a screw ring mark on the header of the card. It was obviously a used card. I won't deal with them any more. It's only mwave, tccomputers or buy.com from now on.

If they get the MSI Geforce 2 GTS Pro in, I'll freaking order from them. And they have to be instock for longer than an hour..

I think it's kinda dumb for them to have user reviews anyway. In many cases, the few people who have a problem are more likely to post a bad review than that many people who have no problems. Also, vendors well know that the many if not most of the people that have problems caused it themselves - not knowing how to properly configure something, not knowing how to troubleshoot their problem, etc.

yasha: I actually used to do some receiving for a large wholesaler and one noticed (ok... twiced noticed) that an entire box of Creative Labs sound cards and an entire box of Diamond Stealth II video cards had screw marks in every card.

I asked someone about this and they said, "maybe testing". Crap... Even I test cards without having to screw them down. Whafu?

My point: I don't like Newegg any more than the next guy with their lack of tech support, 7 day return policy and 15% restocking fee, but cards with screw marks in the plates... they could've received them like that, really.

jonnyGURU That's interesting. This was a $200 card and I felt cheated when I saw that. They also sold me a Radeon LE without listing it as an LE. I called them up and they gave me the chinese run around :|

I didn't bother to see if it works. I just returned it because I paid for a new card, not a used one.

Oooooooooooooooooh. A Radeon LE.

Those are good cards, but remember that they're not made by ATI, they're made my Althon. Althon sells these cards direct to the resellers and resellers send them directly back to Althon (not ATI) for warranties. When Althon finds a card returned to them has no problems, they stick right back into stock.

Good video card, but you paid $200 for an LE? MAN! If they're getting that for those cards, they're getting three times their street value!
