I check NewEgg first for everything!!!! Unless they dont have it or are vastly higher in price I order!!

Their service and policies are outstanding and since they have saved me so much money over the years, Ill pay a little extra when necessary.

I'd rather pay a bit more for good service than try my luck with an unknown. I've made orders on a Tuesday and received my items on Thursday, can't beat that.

Agreed. I normally just go with NewEgg if it's a hardware related product as long as the price difference is within $5-$10 including shipping.

Compares to Best Buy for most hardware, they certainly still are.

They may not be the cheapest on the net, in fact, I don't think they ever were. But they do over the best value considering selection, prices, order process speed, RMA, etc.

Yup, their no hassle RMA policy is what keeps me coming and is why I ALWAYS buy hardware from them. The extra $5 - $10 I may pay initially compared to a competitor FAR outweighs the 15% restocking fee that you WILL get hit with with another company...especially when buying high dollar items. I've NEVER had to pay a restocking fee at NewEgg...I just make sure to call them up to get an RMA.

Case in point......P4 cpus......no version of either the 2.8C or the 3.2C cpu has this disclaimer, but both versions (OEM and retail) of the 3.0C cpu do have this applied to them.

Wonder why?
Because people would buy the cpu, see how it overclocks and if it wasn't a good overclock, return it. They were losing too much money processing these returns, plus getting back possibly fried hardware.

Yes, NewEgg is the standard that I hold all online merchants to.

Anyone else notice neweg getting pricy with reputation?

I guess one could take this one of two ways:

1) NewEgg is getting pricey because their reputation is quite good right now.

- or

2) NewEgg is raising their prices ever so slightly so they can continue to upgrade their business so that they maintain that competitive edge over the competition.

think of the extra few bucks as the NEWEGG Warranty. it's the piece of mind.

on another note, i bought a mobo for replacement in another computer (didn't buy newegg cause they didn't have the one i was looking for). it was a RETAIL purchase and the site only offers 30 day RMA and after that i gotta contact the manufacturer. with newegg, i woulda just called them and sent it back.

Newegg is worth a premium because of the no hastle RMA's. I just had the worst experience ever with Livewarehouse over an RMA and am still fighting with them. I will be buying only from newegg from now on.

BuyShadySpamGear really screwed the pooch when they came around here shilling themselves. The only way they'll get any of my money is if their shipped price is hugely discounted from what NewEgg or ZZF can offer.

Even with sales tax, NewEgg is still king for the "things likely to have problems" goods, e.g. motherboards and drives. For everything else, there's ZZF.

Unfortunatly I BUY too much hardware not sell it. Hell my heat is only 3-0-0 I give most of this stuff away after a few months.

Anyway, did some searching on buyxg after cheaparse alerted me to thier problems, and what he said just scratches the surface of thier piss poor operation.
