I've bought thousands from them..began from being turned on from pricewatch 4-5 years ago. Anyway today while searching for a couple items they got smoked by buyxg.com which also has free shipping. Heres my cart at both places right now.

Item..................... Newegg........ buyxg.com
Seagate 80GB......$77..................$72
Barton 2700..........$136...............$115
BFG-FX5900...........$175...............$166
Asus A7N8X.............$88...............$81

Total................$480 plus shipping..$434 no shipping charge.

Anyone else notice neweg getting pricy with reputation?

I have my stuff in 2 or 3 days, hows that for service. No hassle RMAs, etc too. Everything is packaged pretty darn good at newegg.

That's exactly why they are the only place i've ordered from...just an observation.

don't forget about the pens, shirts, hats, computer lights, paperweights, cdrs and other "customer appreciation gifts"

Depends on what you buy. Usually the Hard drive, CD drives and processors or motherboards came with free shirt, hats and during holidays a paperweight.

lol, WTF are you doing comparing buyxg to newegg. Please do a little research on buyxg about how the used to spam ATHD almost everyday making a new account each day, their customer service blows, they ship different things than what you order, have/had 2 different reseller ratings accounts, make up their own reseller ratings reviews...etc, etc.

I will never buy from buyxg again...

I have been putting a system together lately and everything except the DVD burner was at least a few dollars cheaper at zipzoomfly.

No joke, Buyxg would make a new account everyday(b/c they kept getting locked) and spam hot deals with bullshit respones. Finally(IIRC) the mods had to email the owner a link to a stickied thread in ATHD where they were getting so much bad PR b/c of the constant spamming. In other threads in HD you will see other complaints and even an unconfirmed finding of false reseller ratings.

I personally only bought from them once, they sent my most of my order, but charged for the whole thing. After a little bit of haggling, they sent me the rest. That along with everything else is why I would never buy from them again.

I usually just compare neweggs prices to googlegear's(zipzoomfly). I usually find that newegg is alittle more expensive after you count the shipping.

Buyxg.com has nothing near the selection of newegg either.

I didn't know there was 256MB version of the 9800 Pro. Newegg doesn't have that.

I've been wondering why many of the Egg's products are carrying this:

**This item is NOT REFUNDABLE, exchange for same exact item only!!**

Case in point......P4 cpus......no version of either the 2.8C or the 3.2C cpu has this disclaimer, but both versions (OEM and retail) of the 3.0C cpu do have this applied to them.

Wonder why?

Don't forget their specials either. I've bought things that I wasn't really in the market for because the deal was so good (and it's usually something I wanted anyway) :)

On several occasions I have found better prices elsewhere but a few pennies would never turn me off of NewEgg. They have always shipped my orders promptly and actually shipped the right products. I'd rather pay a bit more for good service than try my luck with an unknown. I've made orders on a Tuesday and received my items on Thursday, can't beat that.

Yeah, same here. :p

Well, that isn't entirely true. At the beginning of 2002, I attended CES in Vegas on my company's dime. Newegg had a booth in one of the halls so I was able to scarf up a keychain and some candy. :p

Satire aside, I prefer Newegg over the others. Great service, return policy and very competitive pricing. In fact, I'll prolly order about $250 worth of parts from newegg later today.
