I bought XP pro OEM from them and din't purchase any additional hardware. However, Newegg sent a small SATA power adapter cable with it. I was wondering why the hell i got the cable and i realized yeah thats the piece of hardware.

Couple of years ago a certain site would add a tiny screw (hardware) to go with the OEM s/w purchase....can't remember what site that was tho.

Using Windows 3.11 for Workgroups? Jeez I pity you. Any computer I have that's old and doesn't need a fancy operating system on it I just load Linux on typically Debian or Fedora Core.

It's probably got 16 or 32 megs of ram, maybe 64. Why someone would want to hang onto an old PC like that is beyond me. Even the 299 buck Dell would smoke it in every way.

Just thinking about Win 3.11 is enough to make me want to puke. What a POS..

I'm looking to upgrade to windows XP pro.....i'm still using 95 but it says for the OEM version i have to buy it with hardware, can that be an IDE cable or does it have to be a complete system? OEM is 60 bucks cheaper than retail

Who the heck is still using Windows 95 in this day and age?

Why do you belong to a computer tech site with so many posts if you are that stupid/lazy/cheap?

I'm serious... I wanna know how anyone who considers themselves halfway computer competent is still using Windows 95 in the year 2005.

Funny. I always thought competency was how well you used whatever you had.

Not too long ago, a friend bought all the parts to build a new PC including XP Home OEM. NewEgg still threw in the power splitter. That had me scratching my head.
