Actually, no, Patriot is a part of the company called PDP systems, est. 1985. I doubt Fry's has been around since 1985 :p And PDP/Patriot memory is exported to various countries, including Japan and Korea. I doubt any house brand can do such job.

Patriot memory is awesome I have 2gb of the stuff, runs at advertised timings and stock voltage

umm frys has been around since 1985. Except back then it was exclusively a tech geek store, had only 1 store and nothing like it is today.

frys general uses some "premium" brand for the house stuff.
