Argh I get a mother board that isn't sealed (both static bad (although it doesn't look torn apart) and the box lacked being sealed). I decide to give it a benefit of a doubt and try it out. Get everything installed (find out the zalman cooler doesn't fit because the northbridge is to close to the agp slot (not a problem with newegg more with the asus k8v-n). After getting it all together I try to turn it on nothing fans power on but nothing else..... ok so I double check everything it's all fine.... Ok so I take all the unnessarcy parts off, reseat everything, clear the cmos and try again nothing.... ARGGHGHGHGHH If the either of the two items they sent to the wrong address end up doa when I get back to college it's going to be the last straw for them. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when i bought my video card the box wasnt even factory sealed........ I gave it a try still working good...... but when i pay for something thats says new i want new.....

it was probably a mistake - newegg has great CS. give them a call, they'll help you out.

i dont remember anything i buy from newegg was sealed with the plastic thing voer the motherboard box or anything they always was just the factory box

I had suspicions about a board I just got too. Something about no seal around the MB box, flimsy fold of the static bag, and odd jumbling of the accessories set off alarms. I've opened close to 100 boards now and this one just seemed off somehow. I thoroughly scanned the manual and board for fingerprints or smudges and found no trace, so maybe it's just sloppy manufacturers. My point: It's happened before o rare occasion, but there's also the probability that it's just the board.

In any case, this is Newegg you're dealing with. Call and explain, calmly and politely, and they'll accomodate you.

Yea, I got it RMA'd now but I had to pay for shipping to them. With the wrong addresses they flat out refused to do anything even accusing me of screwing up the first time it happened. Second time I was paying attention and know they fubared they told me they fixed it and still sent it to the wrong place.

some of these tech warehouse companies do open all Motherboards when they are recieved to verify serial numbers for inventory..

unless stuff is really trashed in the box it is usually the case.

The fact that the mobo box wasn't shrink-wrapped has been discussed on a number of occaisions here. The overwhelming concensus is that mobo boxes DON'T come with shrink-wrapping. So, don't be suspisious (sp?) of ur mobo for that reason. Of the several boards I've got from newegg in the past year, none were shrinkwrapped and all worked fine.

Likewise, the static bag isn't really sealed either. That's normal too.

For the record, the box isnt supposed to be sealed. My roommate got that board and the box just closes w/ the little flappy things. As for the anti-static bag, I dont remember it having a seal either. You probablt got a bad board, but they probably DIDNT ship you refurb.

The EPox board I just got wasn't in plastic wrap it just has those little wing tabs and a round sticker in the middle the anti static bag did have a little bit of tape but thats it.

I've never seen a Asus mobo in a shrinkwrapped box. If I did, I might be suspicious.

I've never seen any mobo in a sealed box... some are harder to get out, cause they have sleeved cases, etc.. but none come taped and sealed up. one thing they always do have is a static bag.
I bought a few boards from NCIX.com and when I pull them out of the bag, they have an NCIX sticker on the PCB... no biggie, it's NIB other than that.
