Newegg: Australia?

I know the intended users for this forum are American, but I recently came across a Newegg website based in Australia. http://www.newegg.com.au

From what I read at their forums, it's not associated with the real Newegg. I still find it wrong that they try to steal off Newegg's recognition. It really bothers me, but oh well. For you Aussie's out there that lurk here wishing for deals over there, I guess you have a new online computer store.

"Hi were Aussie owned and operated, completely autonomous from the American site, although you can expect service and prices that compare, we expect to launch our marketing campaign within the next two months, until then enjoy the exclusive attention!"

Calculating for exchange rates the 939 Athlon64 was about $35 more than newegg. Thats a 25% markup.

Mmm... lawsuit, and barbeque to boot. I better head on off to Australia. 😛

The prices in Aus for computer parts tend to be a lot more than other countries. Take for example Scorptech.com.au Also, at times, it's rather hard to get the parts you want or need, even at their computer fairs.

Last time I went there, I bought most of the parts from Newegg and took them with me to build a new PC for my girlfriend's parents. The only thing I bought there was the power supply, Case, fans, monitor.

I was hoping the official newegg could open a franchise AUS, but nope.

someone saying how much they hate that another site is trying to steal newegg's thunder..........

When newegg itself started up right around the time that egghead went under due to customer info being compromised.

Ya newegg is'nt exactly a Saint. They basically had an exact carbon copy of mwave's site when they first started and the first couple year. I ain't accusing no one of nothing but at the time people were making similiar comments above.

Hi guys, I left emails and phone calls multiple times hoping to arrange newegg to sell to Australia? They didn?t have the courtesy to reply even once. We have a saying in Australia,?There's more then one way to skin a cat.?
So I built newegg.com.au. LOL
The mark up in Australia is extorsion and the only way to get the latest products is to place your faith in someone in America to buy the products and send them over. So I decided I was going to make it better and newegg.com.au. It?s not about greed it?s about giving Australian consumers the best products and prices I can. I rang newegg and told them my intention and still haven?t heard from them, you never know maybe they will contact me now?

No, it's more like gross misrepresentation.

I rang newegg and told them my intention and still haven?t heard from them, you never know maybe they will contact me now?
