I'm still using a giant beige mostrosity of an Antec Performance II since about 2002 or so. I really really want something new this time but am having a hard time justifying it! The thing's about 35 pounds, is gonna last forever, and is ugly as sin. ;)

I have the exact same case! Like you, I also have a hard time justifying a new case due to the timeless quality of this old antec. It is still a dam good case even though it weighs a ton.

At least it has a 120mm exhaust fan.

I remember more than 10 years ago dreaming about this Kingwin aluminum case and it only has a single 80mm exhaust fan. How things have changed over time.

The specs list the width of this case as 8.1". I'm assuming that's a top measurement.
To anyone who has this case what is the width including the side bulges. The space in my computer desk where my current case sits is 8 5/8" wide. Don't want to take a chance ordering it and have it not fit.

I know this GX500 deal is dead for the time being, but the following Antec VP-450 for $19.99 AR FS might be another PSU to add to the short list of PSUs that would allow "behind the motherboard" cable management.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...45&ignorebbr=1

Keep in mind it only has a single 6 pin PCIe power connector (like many PSUs with 400 to 450 watt power rating). This would allow up to R9 270 Video card without resorting to adding molex to 6 pin PCIe adapter.

For R9 270X and above, the PSU will need more than one PCIe power connector.

P.S. Regarding those Molex to 6 pin PCIe adapters, I've read numerous Pros and cons with respect to their usage. Personally, If I were going to use R9 270X or greater I would want a PSU with two native 6pin /8pin PCIe connectors.
