NewEgg and their outrageous S&H prices...

Is it just me, or does NewEgg like to fvck you on shipping??? I mean I want to buy a keyboard, a PCI firewire card, and a cheap soundcard which totals out to $65. So yes their prices kicka$$, then I go to checkout and notice that S&H is $26.25 w/ Fedex Saver!!! WTF! So total is now $91.25! Doesn't seem so hot anymore. Did they raise their shipping rates or what?! Man, I've ordered from them in the past, and I don't remember shipping being that high for just plain Fedex Saver Ground. I'm NEVER ordering from these fvckers again unless they lower their shipping rates. Fedex does NOT charge that much for shipping, NewEgg is obviously profitting from these excess charges. Adios NewEgg!

Just my .02 cents.

They drop ship from allover. They do charge a tad high, and it IS odd when a 20 gig HD costs $1 more to ship then a $30 gig HD, it is not ALL an overcharge. Dropshipping from many locations causes the shipping cost to be higher.

Also, price a computer (part by part all added together) from there and someplace else. 99% of the time newegg will be a better deal..

Oh hell, why am I defending newegg. If you want to pay more because shipping is too much, then I guess that is your problem ;)

Hehe I doubt it, they seem to be a much better site for buying a lot of stuff at once. If your going to buy like 1 or 2 things it's not always worth it. But the free shipping on stuff is pretty good.

The problem with NEWEGG is that they charge a seperate shipping charge for each item. It would be better if they charged you for your total order. Also the shipping charges seem kind of random. That said they seem like a very reputable outfit.

You have to understand that online retailers have a set price per unit that they ARE going to make, one way or another. An easy way to do this is to lower the initial cost, and then add a large shipping fee.

You are correct though, they somtimes ship for free. Usually items that cost less than packaging are free like cables, things of that nature. They shipped a motherboard and cpu to me for free which surprised me, then I just realised the free shipping was tagged on to the initial price.

Just include the shipping charge when comparing prices with other retailers. I just looked at the Radeon Le w/tv-out $83 + $4 shipping =$87 shipped not outrageous at all.

The last video card I bought from them I only had to pay $4 for FedEx saver. Got it in 3 days to South Carolina. Now that was pretty sweet.

I just got an Enermax power supply and a heatsink from Newegg in one order - $10.00 shipping to North Carolina. A second order was an Epox 8K7A board and a TBird (AYHJA Y :)) - shipping $9.00. I think Newegg is great.

The show the shipping charges long with the item price so it's not a mystery as to what they'll charge overall as opposed to other companies. Also, if you order several stuff, they begin to charge less than the shipping price listed.

Even with the shipping, the stuff ends up being a bit cheaper than other places.

They don't stack shipping anymore right? I just ordered parts for a whole computer and shipping was actually cheap, very cheap compared to everyone else, maybe except for outpost.com. I live in honolulu by the way

woohoo, my GF is from HI. but i'm just a funny haole(sp?) boy ;)

Anyways I just ordered from them like two or three days ago and got two tracking numbers for a Mobo, CPU, and ram. Shipping wasn't too bad though, like $15 or so which seems comparable to other places.

I agree that thier shipping is wierd. TCWO has a deal where your whole order from 1 part to many is 6.95. I will probably be ordering a few parts from them soon.

I usually use z-buy if just buying a few items. They have free shipping on almost anything except very large/heavy items like monitors.

just added up a part order at newegg and mwave.
when everything counted, shipping, tax (i'm in ca)
newegg was $40 cheaper on a $450 order. of course,
maybe it's just parts selection but this seems to
usually be true.
and mwave and neweg are usually among the cheapest.

don't just add up the shipping that is on the site, actually put everything in a cart and have it calculate shipping, its often a bit less than what is quoted.
