Newegg is offering 8G (2x4G DIMMs) of G.Skill DDR3 1600 free with select Z77 motherboards.

Z77 motherboards with free 8G RAM

I'm seriously thinking of getting the GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP to upgrade my secondary system. Pair this with a Sandy or Ivy Pentium (G620 or G2120) and you can a whole MB/RAM/CPU upgrade (with onboard video if you need it) with really nice performance for under $200.

where are all the AMD Mobos??

I'll probably get flamed for this, but there are not a whole lot of reasons to buy AMD motherboards these days - and this is coming from someone who has used AMD processors for years.

This.

If you already have a AM2+ or newer, a drop-in Thuban or BD (at a good price) is a decent option. Starting new, AMD is not a good choice.

That may change, but that's the reality. Not much different than where we were about 6-8 years ago where I would have only recommended AMD builds.

This is a great deal folks. Especially with the Biostar TX77XE3 or Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H since the prices were not inflated and also offer free ship.

Advantage taken! Not a bad deal, especially for mid-range boards...

Yeah, unfortunately they removed the discount from the low-end board so that's no longer there, but there are still some good deals to be found in the middle.

A quick note to say the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H has dropped to $110 with free shipping which is nice in combination with this deal. I kind of wish I had purchased the MicroATX MVP board before it increased from $90, but it's a mixed blessing since I don't really need to be spending more money right now. :)

I wonder if they were feeling the squeeze from the Microcenter mobo+cpu combo deals? Those deals were cheaper than just about anything online.

I don't know how Microcenter does it, their CPU/MB deals are amazing. I don't have one but my parents do (5 hour drive for me). I did manage to buy my i5 3450 there for $50 cheaper than everywhere else while visiting them.

If you need a new MB, AMD is pretty much not the right decision...

I'll probably get flamed for this, but there are not a whole lot of reasons to buy AMD motherboards these days - and this is coming from someone who has used AMD processors for years.
I'd really like to know why the hate for AMD. I'm neutral at the moment, but in the market for a new mobo.

Because Intel CPU's dominate for any CPUs over ~$120 (in most aspects, not to be taken as a total blanket statement). And at lower prices it's still very close anyways.
