FWIW, I just got one off the FS/FT forums that arrived DoA. I'm in the process of warranty with Seagate (shipped it Monday)

I have a OEM 750gb seagate 7200.11 date code "09235 corresponds to 2008 December 10th:
was in a 14 month old dell, dead as a door nail. man seagate has gone to DooDoo.

not that i like seagate, but 1 observation is meaningless in the millions of HDD's that seagate produces.

I got one of these from TD and I'm working on sending out the rebate form. The upc sticker on the box has a second sticker stuck over it at a 90 degree angle. Should I just cut around them both and leave them stuck together?

and it is a rebate debit card. not a check. That makes it harder to cash and use.
The rebate debit card is a new trend that is designed to reduce the rebates paid out.

yep. I recently submitted 5 rebates for a new build, received confirmation that all were received, only confirmed that one was processed and approved, and received it only 3 weeks later.

it's been ~10+ weeks for all of them. the 4 that I'm still waiting for are rebate cards. :( ...and most of these were via Fry's...

After dealing with Hitatchi RMA, they are wonderful. Completed an online form, shipped it back, and within a week and 1/2 I had a brand new retail boxed drive.
