Newegg 2.53 Overclockers?

Anyone have good luck with the 2.53 P4's from newegg...I know that Outpost is the place to get them but Ive heard about problems with bent pins and don't want to have to RMa the chip because I need to get my new system up and running ASAP. So has anyone gotten a good overclocking chip from newegg? Or should I just get one and hope it works well...tray or retail box? Thanks.

I have not heard of newegg pushing out the mult vid chip yet or anywhere near the degree of outpost.....The 2.53's have long been c1s but you could get c1's that will have trouble getting to 3ghz though...

a friend got a b0 2.53 from newegg a couple months ago. maxes out ~3ghz
but if youre lucky and get a good c1 youll probably be able to go higher depending on your setup

If you have a frys near you go there. I just picked up a 2.53 SL6S2 from there today. Worth a shot to see if that's what they have in your area. Plus it's a better deal than outpost too.

Unfortunately I live in Virginia and I don't think there's a Fry's near me. I guess I'll just go with outpost and pray that I don't get bent pins!

Just got my retail 2.53 SL6EG C1 chip from newegg.
I run it on p4g8x-d with 2x512 OCZ 3500EL.
Right now its at 160 FSB rock solid solid.
I'll do a little more testing and let you know.

Much appreciated, will look forward to hearing what you find. I've got a SINXP1394 so I doubt my FSB will go much higher even with my PC3500 Ram, but we'll see!

I saw a guy over at asusboards hit 200 fsb with a 2.4 ES and a SINXP1394. Don't worry about your board. I'm sure you have plenty of headroom left 😀

That's good, everyone says it''s haard to get over 170MHZ or so, but hopefully I will fair a little better.

With all said and done, my SL6EG doesnt want to go higher than 160 FSB. At least at 1.625 Vcore and I dont want to raise vcore more than that.
160 though is rock solid at 1.575

Sounds like that's what I'll be doing, I mean it couldn't be that hard unless they are all bent completely flat!

I just recieved my SL6S2 yesterday from Outpost. In all, there were about 20 pins bent, but nothing that couldn't be fixed! 🙂

The weird thing is that my 2.4B SL6RZ came from Outpost in the same exact OEM container and had no bent pins! Oh well, haven't up'ed the FSB yet, will play with that later on today! BTW, my default vcore is 1.525 with this chip, week 48 of 2002, L Malaysia factory 😀
