Newegg: 10% off select video cards (no longer ALL video cards)

SunnyD

Belgian Waffler
10% off discount code for ANY video card (or at least every one I tried):
Edit: Apparently this is no longer working with EVERY video card... please check your cart before submitting your order!!!

Promo code: MMCHVGA

For example, a compiled list of the LOWEST priced models I could find:
Asus GTX295 = $509.99 - 10% = $458.99 + shipping

Sapphire 4870x2 = $424.99 - 10% = $382.49 Free Shipping

HIS 4870 1GB = $204.99 - 10% = $184.49 - $25 MIR = $159.49 Free Shipping :Q

EVGA GTX285 = $349.99 - 10% = $314.99 - $20 MIR = $294.99 Free Shipping

BFG Tech GTX280 = $314.99 - 10% = $283.49 - $25 MIR = $258.49 Free Shipping :Q

Zotac GTX260 Core 216 = $232.99 - 10% = 209.69 - $35 MIR = $174.69 Free shipping - No longer working with this code

EVGA GTX260 Core 192 = $199.99 - 10% = $179.99 - $20 MIR = $159.99 Free Shipping :Q

Sapphire Radeon 4850 X2 2GB is $247.49 after the 10% off.....very nice price. It kicked some major ass in the recent Anandtech 2 way GPU article. Or get the 1GB version for $200 after the discount and $10 rebate. Doubt the 1GB difference will matter unless you play at super high resolutions past 1920x1200. I wish I really needed a new video card 🙁

Wow, there's some really hot deals in there. Given the 40nm high-end parts look to be delayed until Q4 buying now wouldn't be a bad idea.

As for the 4850x2 mentioned, I'd still go for the 2GB version if you were interested in it. The 512MB 4870 and CF configurations with 512MB still stumble considerably in even lower resolutions like 1680 with 8xAA or 1920 with 4xAA in certain titles to the point it doesn't even look like a high-end part when compared to the 1GB 4870 and GTX 260.

I bought the EVGA GTX285 earlier this morning using the 10% coupon and went through live cashback to get another 2.75% off for a total of $284.96 AR. Before anyone throws off on my math, Call of Duty World at War was included as a free nvidia gift but was listed in the cart at $49.99 then subtracted. MS live gave me credit for the $49.99 purchase so my total live cashback was $10.03. I'll sell the game since I already have it to recoup a little more cash! I nearly bought the BFG 280 but figured in the long run the power savings and resell value would make up $36 difference.

The Sapphire 4850X2 2GB is $239.94 after all the above mentioned discounts, but I am not a fan of ATI drivers.

These prices are very close to the ebay live cashback deals if you could have gotten the 25% off! If you count the free game they may be even better!

Hardly, the 4870 512MB and 4870 1GB perform nearly the same in most games at 1920X1200. Not much difference.

Can we please keep the "performance" and/or "driver" issues and comments out of this thread? This forum is for HOT DEALS, THIS forum is for video card performance/driver discussion.

Outstanding post OP! Geez, may be a good time to upgrade after all!

(And Chizow...I personally find your comments on price/performance helpful so please go right on adding them as they are most certainly relevant)

Yes, I think we need to discuss price/performance and driver issues along with the deals to give everyone info to help with their purchase decisions. I know I appreciate it.

At these prices you can't go wrong with any of the cards listed.

Great deals.

If I was on the fence for a card right now this sale would probably push me off.

Wow. I'd like a 1Gb 4870..unfortunately I bought a used 512mb for $160 a month or two back..if only I knew what was going to happen! 😛

Those are some HOT prices indeed!

Help me out please...I think it's between these 2 as well, along with either of the 4850x2s for ~ $202 and $246 for the 1GB or 2GB, respectively.

The 4850x2s will require me to remove the lower drive bay of my case (easy enough in my Lian Li) but just wondering what the best deal is given I play mostly shooters like COD4/5 and L4D @ 1920x1200 max settings when I can get away with it. Would certainly love to play WIC and Crysis at a higher rez than 1280x1024...

Wow, good prices. I might have to jump on this.

Here is a question:

If I buy the ATI 4870 or NVidia 2xx card, will they still work with this old board?
K8N Neo4 Platinum/SLI (AMD 939)
Slots
- Two PCI Express X16 slot (supports PCI Express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)
- 2nd PCI Express X16 is compatible with PCI Express x 1
- Three 32-bit Master PCI Bus slots, one orange slot reserves as communication slot.
- Support 3.3V/5V PCI bus Interface

I am about to start a new build. I've only bought the Cosair 850W PSU and the Seagate 1.5T SATA HD. And I am testing them with this old mb.

I want to make sure I can test the new video card after I receive it with what I have running at the moment.
I am still waiting for a good CPU, MB, RAM deals.

As reference, my current build: BFG 7800GT, AMD(939) Opteron , 2GB DDR1, hd, etc)

Reply appreciated.
Thanks.

Oh god I've gone and done it. Just picked up a 512mb 4870 for $131 after rebate. 🙂

GundamnW: You will be fine on that board with the 850w PSU. However, you will be VERY limited by your CPU and RAM.

edit: 8800GT with Zalman cooler going up in the FS section. 🙂

It seems to be hit or miss now with various cards. When I checked this morning, it was working with all the linked cards. Now there's no rhyme or reason - the cards that specifically say in the title line to use the code will work, but also other cards without the label will work (such as the ASUS GTX295). Please check your card with the appropriate card before cashing out!

Not sure if I should post this as a seperate hot deal but you can get a kickass combo deal right here using the 10% off coupon code.

EVGA GTX260 and OCZ 1066 DDR2 2x2GB Ram $193.98 after $50 in MIR and $35 combo discount

Christ, this just may push me over the edge... I just got done RMA'ing my 8800GTX for a 9800GTX, haven't really been happy with it.

Opinions on if this combo would be worth it along with my EVGA 680i / C2D 3.0GHz?

It depends on what resolution you use, the extra vram would help if you play at 1900x1200 or above. However there is not a whole lot of difference between the GTX 260 and the 9800GTX in terms of fps. You can go here and select game and then select the 2 cards to compare the two in different games and at different resolutions. I'm not sure if the GTX 260 in the roundup is the core 216 model, but it should give you some idea of the performance differences.
