Newcastle Question

First, I have a Newcastle 3000+ combined with the Zalman CNPS7700-CU. All the reviews of other AMD users state that they get temperature ranges between 30 idle and 35 or so load. I used Artic Silver V and my idle is 35-37 and my load is 43-45. Is it just the difference between the Winchester and the Newcastle or did I stick the heat sink on wrong?

the only way they got 35 load is on water. your load is great; 45C. don't worry about it.

I'm running my 3200 NC at 2400 MHz (240x10) with stock cooler and it idles from 38-42C with max load being 52C.

Thanks... I was beginning to think that I screwed up placing the heatsink on the processor after reading a review board. I've set up my case to have pretty impressive air flow and couldn't understand why my processor was hotter than some other reviewers.

alot of the review places don't even test their systems in a case, but rather in an open environment. that would explain it 😉
