<< No documented incompatabilites. Search the forum too and you'll find the thread AZGamer linked to. Also a thread listing people who managed to get their 8500 up problem free, with 7 or 8 K7S5A posting to it. Maybe in AZGamer's mind, adding bells and whistles somehow fixed this supposed "AGP implementation" problem. ATI no doubt rewrites the AGP spec with every graphics card revision. Suuuuure. Or maybe there's no actual incompatibility. Believe what you want, just don't lie blatently about it. >>

No documented incompatibilities, barring some VGA cards and Power Supplies, is the case - not what you stated. By the same thread, there are no documented incompatibilities with VIA chipsets.

The 8500 is based on a completely different core and implementation.

Find any other chipset/graphics card combo with an equal number of problems, and then your arguement will have merit.

What I consider to be a documented incompatability has numerous hardware sites posting articles about, often with a followup by the actual manufacturer. For example: Via and SB Live!. Note that this is reputable site, that they say VIA has acknowledge the bug, and that they have even produced a patch as a temporary workaround.

Please post a comparable hardware site article (not just users trying to get their particular Windows setup right) showing the same for the K7S5A and a VGA card? Or the K7S5A and an AMD approved powersupply for the the given processor speed.

I don't have to show anything like the VIA link above because all you have done is post your baseless opinions. Your sidestepping of direct questions and ingoring basic facts suggests your "opinions" are just lies.

I have built 6 systems using the ECS mobot, with no problems. All types of video cards and procesors. I hope thay by now you have tried booting with everything out of the case. Sounds to me like you have shorted something out. I understood that you never even get the system to post. Is this correct? By the way, be sure and post the final results!

Ok so before I went and bought a new motherboard I swapped out the radeon7500 with a verto tnt2-m64 32mn sdram card but same problem. I have never ever built a system before so I am now thinking this is me. I unplugged everything reset cmos just in case still no go checked to make sure everything was snug etc. I keep thinking all the problems I have read about with this board...but then again this is new to me so I am wondering is their somewhere I can go online to look for step by step directions on a new build? I bought a dummies book but eh thats not helping and I am not a true blonde so it can't be that.....someone help me!!
