Hi this is my first post in these forums, i was just wondering what all this Seti stuff is all about?
BTW im from Auckland New Zealand, is this like an American thing?

There are a number of projects to get involved with. Everything from soup to nuts.

Welcome to the Forum! The AnandTech team does a lot of projects and we're an international team, but I don't know if we have a member from New Zealand yet. Interested in joining the AnandTech SETI team? 🙂

We also have an IRC channel, if you're interested in chatting with the team members. It's #teamanandtech on irc.teamanandtech.com, and between the Asian/Pacific, European, African and North/South American members [edit: doh! and Australian too!], there are almost always ten to twenty of us hanging around (sometimes members are logged on but dormant... /me whaps Engineer with a large Trout 😉)

seti is people's computers scanning along a certain Hz for patterned signals. the main website is [l]http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu[/l] from there you can download the client and join the TeAm. i'd post some more but dasm i'm tired.
