Newbie usb motherboard connection question...

Ok, on the motherboard there are two USB connections. Both of them are taken up by the front USB connections on the case. I want to install an internal 7 in 1 card reader that requires me to inset it into one of the USB motherboard connections. So, do I loose one of the front pannel connections, or are there alternatives? Sorry about this newbie question, folks, but we all had to start somewhere. 🙂

No, there are, but those are built into the motherboard, with no headers that I can see. My problem is that the two USB headers NOT used by those in the back are being used by the case for the USB input in the front, so I have no headers left in the mobo. How can I install this internal 7 in 1? Does that makes sense? 🙂

probably has USB on the backplane..just has only X amt of headers on the mobo itself wherein lies what he is wishing to do..possibly do a hub and from there...

The only option you have is to remove one of the connectors to your case's front ports. Buying a USB card is only going to give you more ports, not headers.

Dont know if there's a kit sold that will connect to an outside port to the card reader's cable though.
