i need help. everytime i find a file that is downloadable, i click on the link and it says some jibberish stuff. like real jibberish stuff. non-english related. why would it be doing this in the first place? how do i use newsgroups? im using my newsgroup thing from outlook express. help!

Ryan: Get Free Agent by Forte. Here's a link: Free Agent page. IMO, Agent is the best news browser out there. Free Agent is a slimmed down (doesn't have all the features) version of Agent but it's still a great newsbrowser.

Welcome to the uncensored and unmoderated world of Usenet!

PS - DO NOT use your real Email address unless you enjoy being bombarded with spam! 🙂

"jibberish stuff. like real jibberish stuff" hehe welcome to planet Binaries, a whole new world awaits you but you'll learn, what your seeing is probably uuencoded files. In order to ah get them you need to re-encoded them using a newsreader. Forget previous link about Free Agent, you have to be in a mensa club to figure out to use that one. If you want to decode files and avoid all headackes and get XNews If you just want to read newsgroups Outlook Express is fine.
