Ok, I'm a newbie at this distributed computing stuff. I know little more about it then how to spell it. Anyway, I'm wondering how I can help Team Anandtech. I don't have hundreds of Dual PIII-700's lying around, but I'm getting a new PIII-650, which will be running at 866, and it won't be doing anything most of the time, so I decided to come here and see if it would be helpful. Could someone just write the basics or something, either here or in an FAQ thread on this board or something, or just mail me one (sandman@tripart.com).

Thx. :)

Also, what are avg./good benchmark times? I'm running on a C300A right now until I upgrade later this week, but how are these times:
[Jul 24 23:16:31 UTC] Benchmark for RC5 core #2 (RG class 6)
0.00:00:08.87 [802,119.50 keys/sec]
[Jul 24 23:15:09 UTC] Benchmark for OGR core #0 (GARSP 5.13)
0.00:00:16.20 [1,947,993.45 nodes/sec]

Sorry for the annoying (and somewhat dumb questions), but I'm new at this.

Here is some good links for you to chew on.
Mika's speedometer page http://teamanandtech.dhs.org/speed.asp
Dnet info on RC5 http://www.distributed.net/rc5/
Dnet info on OGR http://www.distributed.net/ogr/

To add to the fun, you can configure your client to dump with the team round robin proxies, so you can get your stats updated on a half hour basis.
RC5 weekly stats http://teamanandtech.dhs.org/dnet/rc5/weekstats/byemail.asp
OGR weekly stats http://www.teamanandtech.com/dnet/ogr/weekstats/byemail.asp

And welcome to the Team!
