Hello one and all 🙂

I have just got myself an Abit KT7 and Athlon 800 how do I go about overclocking it have tried just changing FSB and Multiplier in the Bios to no avail do I need to mod the chip ??? any assistance greatly appreciated.....

first you'll need to reconnect the l1 bridges. There are lots of past threads that contain how(primarily the pencil or defog kit) with links to pics and whatnot. What reconnecting the l1 bridges does for you is unlocks the multiplier for the cpu letting you change it, thus allowing you to overclock. You'll want to stay away from changing the bus speed in general with the athalons as multiplier changing is by far easier to do and you could run into a peripheral problems by changing bus speeds too much.
 
Is your athlon a "classic" or a "T-bird".
If its a classic I can help you with that.
