Newbie question on Lian Li cases

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

I am about to endeavour in a fairly substantial Core i7 build and it is the first time I have built a system in 3 yrs.
Obviously alot has changed since then and I will be making my first attempt at overclocking.

I have managed to decide on most of the parts but the one thing i am having trouble with is the case. I like 3 Lian Li Cases.

Lian Li PC-60 Plus II

Lian Li PC-A07

Lian Li PC-A09

My main concern is heat.
Between a OC i7920 w/ Zalman 9700 + GTX 260 + EX58 DS4 are the above cases sufficent for heat control? Which case has the best cooling?
Are there any size conflicts you can think of?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a general observation from a PC-60 (original) user, the all aluminum and multiple fan design of these cases makes them extremely good at cooling. My temps are always very low and I am using the older case with the 80mm fans. That is not really the issue with Lian-Li cases it seems, rather because of their Spartan like capabilities their performance and size is prioritized over their sound.

They are roomy and keep things cool, though my lian-li case is pretty loud. Granted mine has 4 80mm fans (2 front intake, 1 back exhaust, 1 top exhaust) , a big typhoon, a psu fan, and an arctic cooling silencer fan, all 80mm except for the typhoon.

The 120mm ones, such as those you listed will be considerably less noisy, however, though it does not appear that the cases you listed have any specific type of sound insulation. There are ZERO issues with any of the questions you raised, though I thought I might take a moment to allay this concern and experience of mine, though my case is not nearly as good as the ones you have listed.

In terms of cooling it does not seem like the A07 has a front in-take while the other two do. Actually it says that it does, but looking at the picture it appears that the front is solid, weird. Also the pc-60 has a side vent and a cpu-duct though all three have the same basic internal layout. I could be wrong on this but this is from a cursory glance on the lian-li website.

Just from looks the A09 or PC-60 look to be the better coolers though you would have to rely on actual user's opinions as to which is better. Or reviews, though you can't really go wrong with a Lian-Li.

Thanks AVP.
Very helpful. I think I am leaning towards the PC-60 Plus II now.
Sound is important, but medium noise output is tolerable and is not of great concern to me unless excessive.
The more I read about the PC-60 online, the better it looks.

I second the vote for the PC-60. I have my computers in them and they are great. I only use PC-60s (or similar in the series) and the parts are interchangeable. If you use high-quality fans they will move a lot of air and make little noise. I recommend Panaflo.
Good luck!
