Newbie question- Networking some computers

assemblage

I've now got three computers from the parts that were leftover from my upgrades. One for me, one for my wife, and hoping to turn the other one into a TIVO type of deal in the soon future. I was using a hub and paying Comcast $6 a month to hook up my wifes computer, but I picked up a D-Link DI-604 router this week at CompUSA. They share the connection great, but I'm having trouble connecting the two computers. I installed NetBui on them and they don't see each other. One is using Win2k and the other Win98SE. Is there any site that has some good tutorials on how to do this with either NetBui or TCP/IP?

make sure the workgroup names are the same
98 can be set under network neighborhood somehwere iirc, havent used it in a few months
w2k's workgroup name is changed under the System - Computer Name

make the names match, reboot each, and they should be able to see each other on the network

hope that helps some, sorry its lacking in details but i usually just fly through all that so im not really good at giving instuctions on it :/
