I have:
P3-650E cb0 Flip-Chip w/ GlobalWin FOP32
Abit Slotket !!!
ASUS P3V4X 1005 BIOS
256 megs of PC133 ram
GF2
SBLIVE
and 4 case fans in an Antec SX830
Windows 2000

I'm trying to do a simple overclock of the FSB from 100 to 133. When I set the FSB to 133, Win2k starts booting, and i get various BSOD saying things about the "Registry being corrupt or some file not being found." I've tried all the voltage settings from 1.65 to 1.8, with no difference. Also, now my profile is corrupt, but that's not a big deal.

The weird thing is, that with the retail HSF on my CPU and only 2 case fans, I bumped up the FSB to 133 and left the voltage at default, and I could get into Win2k and do normal tasks, but my comp would lock up after a few minutes of Counter-Strike or Quake 3.

So, my computer is back to it's normal settings of 100mhz FSB and 1.65 voltage, and it works fine. Anyone have any advice on what i can try or any other input to what the deal is?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

Well, it's possible you messed up the thermal paste... or that the new heatsink is not seated right... Check your temps, they may be too high.

And reseat the heatsink, just to be sure. Make sure to use a thin layer of paste and then mush and twist the h/s down a little to make it spread evenly.

According to Hardware sensors monitor Pro, my Mainboard is 24 C and my CPU is at 33 C when clocked at 650. I'll try reseating it.

Update:
I just reseated, and tried clocking it at 866 with various voltages with not success, any other suggestions?

I have tried to overclock my Celeron 667 and I can get it to 752 Mhz (75Mhz FSB) but that is all. Any higher and it won't boot. I have the Abit slotkit also maybe it is at fault.

I'm not too familiar with slotkits, but on some you have jumpers or something that change the voltage. Maybe you should try changing the voltage on the slotkit and set it at default in the bios. Did you check to see if the voltage was actually increased? On my old Athlon, I could increase the voltage via GFD, but the voltage reflected in the BIOS would be incorrect. Might be worth looking into.

I left the CPU at 650 and raised the voltage to 1.75 and Hardware sensors monitor Pro said that my voltage was at 1.75. Anyways, I'm just bumping this up hoping for more input. Thanks

My Soyo SY-6BA+III won't adjust the voltage high enough so I have to up the voltage on my MSI slotket...Cel2 566 at 850 and havent tried higher yet.
