I am looking for a hard wired no wi-fi router but I do not know what specs I need to look for, I will get the 50 meg verizon fios to start and I will run cat 6a to the ont either port. I use bittorent so I will have a lot of simultaneous connections. can you help me find a router?

Just get a high-end ($200+ class) wireless router, and disable the wireless. They don't really make SOHO wired routers any more, there's no market for them.

Edit: Look up SmallNetBuilder, they have "Router charts". Look for the "WAN to LAN throughput" numbers, and pick something with 200-300Mbit/sec or more. (For future FIOS speed expansion.)

that is wrong larry..

Ubiquiti EdgeRouters are basically enterprise class SOHO routers.
They also fit his price range, and can be hammered with torrents without a hickup.

However the OP is probably better off building a Pfsense/Smoothwall/IPCop box using a Dual Intel Nic Atom board + 2GB of SO-Dimm and a small SSD which should run him about 200 dollars.
The best thing of all, the software is free, and is easy to install via USB thumb drive.

And both these options will spank any Netgear / Asus consumer based routers.

However those 2 options are not easy to setup, and would require some research in how to set one up.

So why even suggest it? The OP identifies himself as a newbie.

that just ups wifi capability more than router capability. Most of the home routers don't have enough memory for torrent level state table. plus cheap construction means over time they just die.

run an older pc box (or nuc) as pfsense router and a few WAPs and you are done. or used commercial gear, but the configuration has a learning curve.

forget it, get the uniquity edge, cheap solution.

because although he's a newbie, it would only take about a couple of hours on youtube to learn how to set one up.

and others have stated ubiquiti has a dumb button... basically a one button config all setup.

Either way, having the OP look at consumer grade routers for heavy torrenting is a massive spelling for FAIL....

actually id recommend this one over that...
