Newbie Needs Help

I've decided to build my first comp but I am a little confused on what parts to get. I think I will go with an Athlon 1Ghz or 1.2Ghz 266FSB. I am lookin for a board that supports DDR and is easy to overclock, (more bios less jumpers) and from what I read I think the best choices are EP-8K7A and the Gigabyte?s GA-7VTX. Does anyone have any feedback on these two? Also I am not sure if I should pay more for the RAID support, is it worth it? Also does anyone have any useful links on RAID in general, I kind of know what it is, but don't know the uses for it.

Thanks all for the help

There was a good article on RAID here on Anandtech about a week ago, might want to give that a read. As for the motherboards, I don't have much experience with socket a's, but I know someone who has the Gigabyte and is satisfied with it.

raid is only going to be useful with 2 hardrives. Just something to keep in mind.
I have also heard great things about the epox Mobo. I run an IWill KK266 and I would recomend that, but you said that you wanted DDR.
