:confused:My first post! Just built a system (not my first) but this one has some high-speed RAM. Need some help adjusting my BIOS settings, the nForce 680i didn't recognize my two 1GB sticks of Corsair Dominator PC2-8500 C5. Had to manually configure. Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680i SLI 122-CK-NF68, Graphics Card: EVGA eGeForce 8800GTX, CPU: QX6700, Power: PC Power&Cooling Silencer 750 Quad. My CPU has a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme sink with fan. Antec 900 case with 4 fans, no RAM fan.

These are my present Bios settings:
SLI-Ready Memory: Disable
FSB Memory Clock Mode: Linked
FSB Memory Ratio: 1:1
FSB(QDR), MHZ 1066

Memory Timing Settings: Expert
tCL(CAS Latency) 5
tRCD 5
tRP 5
tRAS 15
Command per clock: Auto 2T
tRRD Auto 4
tRC Auto 30
tWR Auto 6
tWTR Auto 10
tREF Auto

Mem Voltage: 2.10 v
nForce SPP: 1.40v
SPP Reference Clock (PCI-E): 2500mhz
MCP Reference Clock(PCI-E): 2500mhz

Is this OK? Should I try for more? What needs to be changed? I have the latest version of nTune but have been making the RAM changes directly to the Bios. I haven't tried to change my CPU speed yet. Want to get the RAM squared away first. Would really appreciate some help if someone out there has a moment to reply.

Many Thanks,

---Laura G.

Looks fine to me (seems it's at DDR2-1066 which is default for that RAM :)), but posting a screenshot of CPU-Z's Memory tab would help.

Keep in mind that you'll likely need to use a different memory ratio once you start overclocking though...

Thanks for the reply! How would I post a screenshot into this forum?

Can't find any instructions in the FAQ and it won't let me cut and past the bitmap image into this text field. See......... this really is my first post! Many thanks...:D

Ah yes, welcome to the forums :)

Sorry, you have to use image hosting elsewhere.

bbzzdd is the unofficial official hosting site for Anandtech forums: http://pics.bbzzdd.com/

Or use something like: http://imageshack.us/

As long as CPU-Z is showing 533 MHz 5-5-5-x, you've got it set right for its defaults.

Excellent! Thanks for the tips on the image hosting, will have a look. Yes, the CPU-Z reports look spot-on. Was a little worried about the nForce SPP voltage. It jumped when I made the memory adjustments. Don't really understand if 1.40v is bad, but it is certainly higher than it was. Thanks for your help.
