Hi there,

Hi I?ve decided to attempt overclocking with my current system, I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to this stuff :p so any help, tips or advice that you can give would be muchly appreciated :)

All of my current hardware is running at stock speeds! :( I?m looking at overclocking my CPU in particular and also my ram which is currently running at DDR400 but it is rated to run at DDR500!

I think I have quite good airflow in my system, with two 80mm intake fans and two 80mm exhaust fans.

My system specs are as follows:

Athlon 64 X2 4400+ @ Thermalright XP120
A8N-SLI Deluxe beta BIOS 1017.004
1GB (2x512) Adata Vitesta DDR500
ATI x1900XTX
Maxtor 250GB SATA HDD

I?m looking to get the most out of my system for gaming and such!

I look forward to all your replies, many thanks and much love from ian! :)

I have the same mobo and it's great for overclocking with one exception, the 240mhz 1T problem. This board will not run stable with ram above 240mhz with a 1T command rate, you either have to stay below 240 (DDR480), or change command rate to 2T. The 2T command rate hits performance more than the slower speed, so I recommend staying below 240mhz with 1T.

If your looking for a moderate O/C, you can do something like 230x11=2530 w/ram 230mhz DDR460. If your CPU is capable and you want to go higher you can drop the ram to DDR333 and the multi to 10x and do something like (270-280) x 10= 2.7-2.8ghz w/ram 225-235mhz
