newbie >? how do i check the stepping of my cpu?

i have a p3-500 katmai and need to know the stepping on it,how do i find this out someone school me please!

You could go to the Intel web site and download their cpu id utility,run it and see.

Or you could read the 'S-spec' code from the CPU casing and check it against the document found at this link.
