newbie flash question

what can i do with opensource .fla files that i downloaded. is there a guide? i'm new to flash and i found this great little animation but i want to edit it around a bit. what can i do with the .fla file?

Open it up with Flash and start editing. It's also good to get a good grip of Flash fundamentals and actionscripting or you'll find it hard to understand how the animation goes.

yup.

if you are a complete newbie to flash, i recommend you first begin to learn the tools of flash, what everything does what it can do. the best book for learning the basic are those "bibles" go look for Flash 5 Bible, you can learn a lot for a starter. when you have a .fla file, you have it made. you can basically alter anything. I also recommend Shaggers link, its the best source in learning. good luck
