What's the difference between the P4 2.5 GHz A Northwood, and the P4 2.53 GHz Northwood besides that little .03 (I'm looking at Atacom's site right now)? They both claim to have 512 K cache, @533 MHz, so what's the difference? I read somewhere that "A" is better because of the larger cache but I don't see a difference between these two. Also, is there a 2.53 GHz "A" as well? Every site I've checked just has the P4 2.53 GHz with no "A" designation.

I have no idea. I didn't think they made a 2.5a. The other is a 'B' chip, which runs on a faster default bus speed (533mhz). Both 'A's and 'B's are .13 micron, 512mb cache processors, 'A's are 400mhz and 'B's are 533mhz. Maybe it's a typo? 🙂

Yes Mikki is right, they do have 2.5GHz P4s and they are the A model and run at a slower 400MHz fsb then the B ver, 2.53Ghz that has a 533Mhz fsb. They are shiping the 2.5A's in about 3 days, so if your motherboard can support 533Mhz fsb grab the 2.53B P4, if not grab the 2.5A.
