Hey, I know this is kind of a newb question, but i need to know if you need to reformat if you get a new motherboard installed? that is if its a different motherboard.
 
yes you should. I guess you would not have to but you are pretty much garenteed to experience some difficulties.

I highly recommend it.

make sure you install your new chipset drivers also.
 
like what kind of problems? Im doing it and dont really want to put all my things in my external right now. If its not like a total system crash i might just skip it.
 
is it possible for you to just try it w/o reformatting the hard drive? worst case, you can always save your data and reformat later.
