i was goin to get an 802.11g Netgear WG602 AP. however, netgear doesnt make pci g network cards. will a Linksys pci g card work with the netgear AP? thx in advance.

here is the linksys card

Why PCI?

If the Antenna is behind the case close to the Ground it does not make it better!

If it is in the same room it does not matter.

Otherwise get USB Wireless Client.

To USB Module is plugged to the Desktop via 2-3' cable, thus can be placed above the system.

For 802.11 g you want USB 2.0

I think that there is only one on the market.

If you can not find USB2 go with the Linksys.

Since the Linksys seems to have a removable Antenna, you can extend it if necessary.

Buy it from a store with liberal return options.

ok, sorry, another dumb question. to network two computers, i need 1 access point and TWO wireless NIC? or just 1 access point and 1 NIC? i need to network these two computers to share a cable modem access. thanks.

If you want to share internet access, get a wireless G router instead of an AP. One computer can plug into the router with a network cable and the other can connect wirelessly. The router will handle your internet connection and share it among your computers.
