Newb, Noob, n00b, nub, etc.

in WoW my guild has a n00b rank, which is the most sought after rank in the guild. ill usually call new people newblets, i dont like using the no0b term as a negative. most people see newbie and no0b as the same thing.

Well, this is kind of a bad poll and question. They're all different. Newbie is a "legitimate" word used to describe someone who is new at whatever endeavor they are attempting to undertake, and noob is a slang term for a stupid or annoying newbie (though you could argue that a noob doesn't need to be a newbie, they only need be stupid and/or annoying). Being a newbie or newb for short is not inherently bad, being a noob or nubcake or nubz0rz is.
