New Zelda pics up. Looks pretty sweet

Looks....BEAUTIFUL!

But I read that the new Zelda will be similar to Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles in that it will require 4 GBA's + link cables to be able to play multiplayer (and thus get the most out of the game).

What da heck is Nintendo thinking by making games that require $500+ in hardware to play? Especially since the GC already comes with ports for 4 controllers!

Wow this looks fantastic. It looks SO much better than WW. I don't care what anybody says, Wind Waker was a good game, but it just didn't look right at all for a zelda game. I really like the style of this new one.

Also,

OMGWTF new Goldeneye?!?!?!? *dies*

bring back 2-D zelda IMO that was much more fun

A Link to the Past > Zelda (original nintendo) > All other zeldas > Link's Awakening

I am not including GB or GBA versions but i put the right up there with the original nintendo version

rather than spending 20 minutes just to sail to another island i hate investing that kind of time just to go to different areas
the puzzles were alright and so were the boss fights i just loathed sailing more than anything and that is why i still havent beaten it

let me just say this:

this...plus the ds...means i wont be getting any sunshine this year. does anyone know if the ds is going to be able to connect with gcn?

I would say Nintendo is almost required to offer some sort of connection simply because of their dependence upon their hand held systems

Never got into A Link to the Past. I know a lot of people like it but the side scrolling running through towns just didn't do it for me. I loved all the other ones though.

Looks cool, but does anyone else miss the old top-down perspective of console RPGs? I don't care much for all of this first-person perspective.
Not a single Zelda game was first person, including this one. 😛

A Link to the Past is the SNES Zelda game (the best one, IMO). You're thinking of The Adventure of Link (Zelda II).

Did no one else notice the eerie likeness to Lord of the Rings in this video? I think someone was inspired heavily by the movies. Will Link drive his sword into the ground and shout, "YOOOOUUUUUUUU...SHALL NOT PAAAAAAAAASSSSS!!!!!" 😀

BTW, this game looks awesome! I bought a Gamecube almost entirely for Wind Waker and Prime, now I have something else to enjoy on my system.

anyways

i can't wait for the next zelda game. I really enjoyed windwaker..probably one of the best game's i've ever played..and the cell shading fit the game perfectly in my opinion

People tend to grossly underestimate the power of the GC. People are too busy calling it a kiddie to actually open their eyes and take a look sometimes.

Anyway, I remember when ATI used to suck, then they bought ArtX, after that they stopped sucking for some reason. Guess who developed the GC's graphics processor, and guess why the GC box has the IBM and ATI logos on it.

I'd have to say that the GC is very competitive with the Xbox graphics wise except for a few games like Halo and DOA3 etc.
