Agreed. Walking/public transportation is an excellent way to travel throughout the city. Sold my car prior to moving here, and have never looked back (on the rare occasions I require a vehicle, merely rent one as it is very cost effective).

Toronto is like the suburbs... everything is just spread out everywhere.

I have to agree, Toronto is better than NYC.

They both suck compared to Chicago, though.

dude, i have been to Toronto. Toronto doesn't hold a candle to NYC.

As far as what? (ranking).
Toronto is statistically far more diverse than NYC. There is 1/10000th the amount of homicide and crime. And Toronto is safer from the terrorist aspect.

Most of the time when folks say they love NYC they really mean Manhattan since thats the only borough tourists visit. I hope those visiting decided to venture out of congested Manhattan and check out the Bronx Zoo, NY Botanical Gardens (right next to the zoo), Coney Island (with a Nathan's hotdog in hand)..etc. Remember folks.. NYC is not just Manhattan. I can't think of any place to visit in Staten Island or Queens though and I lived in NYC my entire life. Well..Queens has my Mets, but they stink and even during the offseason they stink.

as far as i have been to both and that is my opinion. who says there is 1/10000th the crime? post a link to that stat.
NYC won't be hit by terrorists again, but Toronto hasn't been put to that test.

What is the reasoning?
i was there this weekend - Time's Square, Central Park, Roosevelt Center, South Street Seaport, Battery Park, caught the Rockettes @ Radio City. the daylife and the nightlife doesn't compare to anywhere else i have been.

NY really rocks @ Christmastime.

End of thread.

Well, for one thing, the people in Toronto are genuinely nicer (and aren't pushy, asking "what makes you think THAT?" every second ;)) - and they don't need some silly structure to prove that they're better - in another words, they don't have the need to compensate for something.

Anyhoo, Toronto is definitely much, much cleaner than NYC. That's a HUGE plus.

Explain? What test? You think if any other major metropolitan city was hit, they'd just sit on their ass and cry?
