New York in Conflict over Drivers License

The New York Senate is trying to stop New York City from allowing Illegals to obtain a Legal Drivers License:

This topic has not been decided yet. It is the State that has legal jurisdiction in the Drivers License Issue.

Illegal immigrants should not be afforded the rights that legal citizens enjoy.

Either provide them a channel through which they can naturalize or send them back.

NYC has no jurisdiction on this matter, so the senate should just put the smack down and be done with it.

NYC has no jurisdiction on this matter, so the senate should just put the smack down and be done with it.

The Governer of NY was trying to allow all illegals the right to drivers licenses. Gov. Spitzer has dropped his proposal...
