Haha, I knew I'd get the responses that some of you posted. But name calling? Some of you pussies are more than welcome to call me a "whiny bitch" to my face. Thank god for the power of the internet. I also balanced my response out to see who actually read past the first sentence.

I won't get into the "fluke" that seemed to get everyone worked up. A fluke is something that happened by mostly luck and will never happen again, or at least for a long time. And the Giants will not even make it to the playoffs next season. I said it first. Please use this thread to eat crow or hand my platter to me to eat it. But 18-1 is an amazing season. Pats have the most wins, ever in a single season. The 72 dolphins had a shorter season, FYI. We also already beat the Giants. But I forget who said it, but yep pat's didnt really come out to play like they shoulda. I think Eli stole Tom's magic and testicles and used them for that infamous pass late in the 4th quarter.

Oh yea, anyone wanna buy me that tshirt? I'll wear it for a day when I go back home to RI.

Tom Brady, is that you? 🙁

I wish, you seen his girlfriend?

And ragingBitch, as fitting as your nick is, I draw a line between all the junk people said, and outright calling someone a curse word. In regular conversation, that is instant uppercut. Unless you were smiling or a cop or something of that nature you don't mouth off like that, especially to near strangers.

I am a fan of neither team. Lions anyone? I have nothing to celebrate. I like the shirt however. This was no fluke. The giants played the Pats tough in the regular season and the defense was terrific in the Superbowl. The Pats were tested the last 4 or 5 games they played. They are a very good team but in the end the Giants out played them.

BTW, the price is at $8.25 right now.

I think you guys need to lay off the poor schmuck. Its obvious the patriots lost to the better team. Do you have to rub it in?

*yawn*

I don't get the humor. Everyone BUT the Patriots were talking about how great they were. Sure Brady scoffed at Burress' 17-14 prediction but that was AFTER Burress talked. As for the game, if WAS a fluke, as were most of the close games later in the season. The Patriots by far were the best team in the NFL, but the stars aligned right last Sunday. The Patriots played a horrible game, the Giants played a great game and still almost lost.

People don't realize how difficult it is to have even a perfect regular season, so saying this season meant nothing is ignorant. They still hold the record for the best regular season ever.

The difference in talent between teams in the NFL is so small that going 18-0 is extraordinary. In 1972 it wasn't. It wasn't hard to imagine the Giants winning, because even as a die-hard Pats fan I knew that if the Giants really wanted it more and could outlast the clock, they'd get it, so long as the Patriots were a little over confident(including the coaches), and that is what happened.

Despite losing, the vast majority of people now and in the future will say the Patriots were by far the best team in the NFL this year. Heck, in all likelihood they will be included in most top 10 lists of the best teams ever(ones not written by the New York media of course).

They are a great offensive team, easily one of the best ever, but in the end we all know that defense wins championships, as proven this past Sunday.

The Patriots are historic in another way though, they won the most games with just one loss

*yawn* damn, I almost fell asleep reading all that sap. This thread isn't about having a soft heart for the Pats. Quite contrary.

IT IS all about remembering that the Pats are a very close second to Linda Lovelace in the choking dept.

cough, cough....

Oh geez, you know the Giants printed up Super Bowl Champions T-Shirts before the game! That's pretty arrogant too..

Actually the NFL prints off shirts of both teams before the superbowl so they can be ready for either team to win. Same goes for the AFC and NFC championship games. I guess they figure that they sell them for so much right after that they make up the cost of half of them being worth nothing!

And btw I've been a Giants fan for 35+ years. 😀

Every team in the Superbowl does the Jersey-thing every year ... this is just another example of NE building up bad karma.

Also be sure to note the word "arrogant" used in my post ... if thats not you then please disregard.

Edit: Finally the game was no "fluke" anymore then coughing up 18 points to the Colts in the AFC Championship was last season & anyone objective who watched the game should know it. The Giants D put a beating on NE's weak offensive line & the best team when the chips were on the table this year is the NY GIANTS.

Accept it & move on ... better luck next season! 😉

But hey, least the Red Sox won something this year.

Right and the Celtics look like a safe bet to go all the way too.

IMHO Boston sports fans have nothing to whine about.

Only pathetic fans would celebrate another teams record because their own record sucks. Yes I'm a Pat's fan. Yes that superbowl game was a fluke.

But if you were one of those real Giant's fans and not a new one that was born 10pm that Sunday night, then this shirt is great for you to remind all those patriot fans to eat crow.

hahaha. your post indicates one of two things:

1. you are bitter fan.
2. if you're going to call it a "fluke", then you know absolutely nothing about football.

The NFL does print both team's shirts so they are ready no matter what the outcome.
The losing team's t-shirts (at least in the NFL) are given to a relief organization and shipped off to a developing nation so they can be given to needy people.

Read here.

I personally love the part about seeing a Buffalo Bills championship t-shirt in a Romanian documentary film.

I never knew what they did with the losers shirts, that is awesome. I hope they stuff the shirts with other good things while they are at it.

also, it showed as $ 9.73 and not $8.25 like some people are saying

This was my total for 2 XL shirts ... I used Paypal with standard shipping & it worked out to $8.25 each. *(ordered on Fri 2/8)

Cart Subtotal: $16.50 USD
Shipping: $7.00 USD
Sales Tax: n/a
Cart Total: $23.50 USD

Edit: It seems the shirt is still available but the price has in fact risen slightly to $9.73 each ... when did you place your order?

Too soon... far too soon. As a boston boy I was used to losing (to NY) and then I got used to wining (beating NY) and now we lose again.. to NY. too soon.

Ever hear the expression "Any given Sunday"
Yes it was a fluke, the pats were at their worst of the year and the Giants were at their best of the year. That happening on the same day.. just chance... If they played that game 10 times pats would win ~8 of them. So yes its a fluke, but that doesn't mean the giants didn't deserve the win or earn it.

I disagree on one point ... I think the Patriots had their worst game of the season in the AFC Championship game and were fortunate that the Chargers were unable to punch into the end-zone effectively ... if SD had Tomlinson healthy in that game I think NE might well have been watching the Superbowl on TV. (in case you missed it, NE played pretty crappy against Philly & the lousy Ravens too ... in fact if it wasn't for a blatent rule-violation by the refs the Baltimore game would have been loss #1)

The Giants on the other hand did play their best football of the season in the Superbowl ... if the fact that NY peaked at the right time helps you get over the fact that NE wasn't as good as you & just about everybody else thought they were then so be it.
