New York Football Giants

Tradition... Back in the day there was also a Giants team in NY that played baseball. So you had to be specific.

They eventually moved to San Francisco.

Because there used to be a New York Giants baseball team, and the football thing stuck

They ought to just call them the NJ Giants, that'd make it clear. 😉

Nah. Why would they want to name their team after that trash hole state 😛

Because Cris Berman is an idiot and needs to be replaced by someone that doesn't make me want to slit my wrists.

Actually, I think it totally died out until The Swami started using it.

As did the San Diego Super Chargers

And, if I am not mistaken, he also brought back, "He.... could.... go.... all... the... WAY!!!" (I miss the original 🙁 ).

I used to listen to NY talk radio when I was commuting a lot, and it was used by some old-timer radio broadcasters who didn't seem like the type who'd be swayed by trends (particularly in sports - they weren't sports broadcasters). So I'd venture to say that it was used continuously by old timers in New York.

Think of the poor Jets. They not only don't play in New York, but have to play in a stadium named after another team (though technically the name of the stadium reverts back to the NJ Meadowlands when the Jets are at home)

Ah. So thats the reason Jon Stewart said 'Congratulations to the New York Football Giants!' - I thought he screwed up reading the teleprompter or something. ( I don't listen to sports news all that much )

But not everyone listens to the old timer radio broadcasters in NY. People across the nation listen to Berman (not necessarily out of choice, lol). So while they are using it because they always have, people across the country are using it (IMO) because Berman blurts it out on TV.

Does the stadium have two home locker rooms?

Do the same vendors get to work all the games, or do the Giants and Jets each have different crews?

Just once, I would like the Jets and the Giants to be the No. 1 seed's in their divisions and make it to the conference championship games.

Hilarity would ensue.
