Hey Guys, my girlfriend and I are looking for somewhere to go during our spring break away from University. We'd like to go to New York for a week or so, not sure exactly where. We're looking to spend about 500$ each. Any suggestions on where to stay / go / is this a good idea?

Thanks guys! Rob (toronto)

Well your from Canada, so I don't see why not. $500 each, don't plan on staying in Manhatten.

Pffft! You're from L.A.

From what I've heard, it's never a bad time of year to visit New York City. (Unless you're from LA, in which case that might be considered a plus. :D )

Unless you plan on sleeping on a subway grating and only using the $500 to eat for a week.

Tons of dirty snow still around. The weather may or may not change for a while, so the city might still have a bunch of ugly black ice.

Come to LA it's a glorious 75 degrees outside.

Plus it's 2 hours away from skiing.

Hah we quickly found that one out.

After some revising we figured 4 nights 5 days, $1000 total on living arrangements.

Do try to stay near a subway station though, otherwise cabs will kill the budget quickly.

But I could be skiing in 7 minutes. ;)

Also nice for you, but I don't think we're going to be doing any skiiing anyway.
